E-mail Marketing Long Term Tactics
E-mail marketing continues to evolve. It is a process rather than a one-step tactic. As you grow your list and improve your marketing skills, you'll discover all sorts of clever ways to generate new leads.
Today we'll wrap up the course by taking a look at some of the advanced marketing resources you can use for long-term growth.
Joint Ventures
Joint ventures can be summed up by the old adage, "I’ll scratch your back, if you’ll scratch mine". You make deals with other list owners in a mutual trade for something of value: subscribers, commissions, products, etc.
For example, you might create a joint venture between your site and another site offering complementary products or information. The key to this type of JV deal is that the subscribers of both lists share the same interests.
You sell weight loss information to your subscribers; the other site sells exercise balls. See the overlap?
Before you approach a potential JV partner, you need to have all of your data handy and a clear idea on what you’d like to offer in trade. In other words, what are your selling points? Do have data on the responsiveness of your list? Can you assure your potential partner that your subscribers will take action?
Also ask yourself what you’d like to receive in exchange: perhaps a solo mailing to their list to generate new sign ups and sales for yourself?
Co-Registration Services
There is a lot of controversy over the effectiveness of co-registration services, but some marketers swear by them.
Co-reg services place advertisements for your list on a network of related sites alongside many others. In a typical scenario, the lead opts to subscribe at one site and is presented a form with checkboxes allowing them to auto-subscribe to additional lists before they finalize the primary subscription.
If you're interested in testing this method, I recommend giving World Wide Lists a try for your first campaign.
Article Submission
Do you enjoy writing articles? If so, then article syndication just might be the hot ticket for your site. Imagine writing a fantastic article that includes your web site address in the byline – and imagine if you could blast that article out across the internet.
It's not a fantasy. This is the magic of article syndication. If your article is good enough, it will be picked up by e-zine owners in need of content for their newsletters.
